Product and Strategy Associate (Contract with potential for Full-Time conversion)

About the Role

The technology affiliate of Jayaram Law, a rapidly growing law firm and media company representing creatives, inventors, entrepreneurs and brands is seeking a highly motivated Product Manager with a principal’s mindset to join our product team. Our mission is to develop innovative products that combine cutting-edge technology, including AI, with legal expertise to transform the industry. You will play a critical role on the product team including:

• Driving product adoption, user engagement, and building a foundation for long-term success.
• Executing and refining the product roadmap to ensure sustained user success, cash generation, and growth.
• Providing hands-on support to users, ensuring they achieve maximum value from the platform.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in product management, a passion for user-centered design, and a strong understanding of how technology can solve critical challenges for users of legal services and clients. As a key team member, you will operate at the intersection of strategy, product development, and user insights to transform access to legal services, the way legal professionals operate and work with their clients and how lawyers are viewed and accepted in creative communities.

Location: New York (preferred), Chicago, Miami, Remote

Position Type: This is a temporary contract position with the possibility of converting to full-time based on performance and business needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

Build a Strong Foundation for Product Success and User Adoption:

• Collaborate with leadership and marketing teams to promote user satisfaction, retention, and cash generation via a seamless go-to-market strategy.
• Act as the primary point of contact for early customers, providing onboarding, troubleshooting, and ongoing support to ensure their success.
• Seek, monitor, and analyze customer feedback to identify and proactively address issues and opportunities, and improve user experience.
• Develop customer-facing resources, including explanation and sizzler videos, training guides, FAQs, and best practices to enhance the user journey.

 

Drive Roadmap Execution:

• Own and refine the product roadmap to align with business goals and evolving customer needs.
• Partner with engineering, design, and leadership teams to deliver high-quality features on time.
• Prioritize and manage product backlogs, balancing technical feasibility, user experience, and business impact.
• Continuously focus on customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and growth.

 

Continuously Improve the Product Based on User and Market Insights:

• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer interviews to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Use product usage data and customer feedback to make informed decisions on enhancements and new features.
• Identify and address product gaps to stay ahead of industry trends and user expectations.

 

Strategic Analysis and Communication:

• Conduct ad hoc analyses and market studies to inform product and business decisions.
• Develop actionable recommendations tailored to specific challenges in software generally, legal technology, and consumer services.
• Create polished, professional materials to effectively communicate insights, strategies, and recommendations.

 

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or a related field, and/or 3-5+ years of product management experience, preferably in SaaS, legal technology, or startups. (MBA is a plus).
• Proven ability to manage and deliver user-focused experiences from inception to production, with a strong sense of user empathy.
• Demonstrated strength in gathering and prioritizing user requirements from diverse sources, resolving stakeholder differences, and focusing on key user needs.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a proven ability to translate technical concepts into business concepts and vice-versa always with a focus on improving user experiences. Able to summarize technical topics for executive audiences.
• Technical background or exceptional familiarity with engineering processes to support technical discussions. Familiarity with AI models and their application to enhance product functionality and experience working with APIs is a must.
• Experience working in agile methodologies, lean practices, and the Software Development Lifecycle
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of initiatives and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Figma, Airtable, and similar industry tools.
